The Royal Oak, Gladestry

The Royal Oak Inn

The Royal Oak in Gladestry is a real village pub with a thriving lively local trade, good beers, straightforward down to earth food, an open fire in the lounge bar and a marvellous location under Hergest Ridge and on the line of Offas Dyke Path.

Its only real drawback, alas, is that it has only one letting room. However, riders staying overnight in Gladestry at B&Bs in the village are within a couple of minutes walk and will usually come here for evening meal.

Riders making an early start from the Forest Inn, Red Lion or Bach Farm can choose to stop here lunch. There is good safe tying up at the adjacent Gladestry Court so you can relax in the bar amongst the Offas Dyke walkers without having to interrupt the sipping and munching to check on the horses.
