Holidays on Horseback

Who do we cater for?

If you are reasonably fit, can walk up and down a hillside track, do not weigh too much more than 16 st, 220lbs. or 100kg and wish to ride in the hills then we hope you will consider one of our trails.

Small Groups

For safety reasons there is a minimum of 2 riders for the unescorted FreeRein Trails. Unless you are a group of riders who are used to a riding out together it is probably advisable initially to limit your group to 4 or so for the unguided trails

Individual Riders

Individual riders are invited to consider joining one of the 2, 3 or 6 day Guided Rides, or an Onto the Trail Course. These are usually fairly sociable affairs and may offer an opportunity to link up with other riders for a future unescorted trail.

Family Groups

Trail riding through the hills, like skiing, is an all absorbing activity in which the whole family can join. Families wishing to book an unescorted FreeRein Trail should include 2 or more adults if any of the group are under 16 years old. Often we are asked do we have a younger age limit. Age may not be a defining factor. Do ring to discuss. It depends very much on the experience of both adults and the younger ones whether or not a trail is successful.
