The Guided Eppynt Trail - 4 Days

Head into the hills . . .

Arrive FreeRein HQ for 9am to meet fellow riders, your guide and horses. As with all our guided riding holidays there is a maximum of 8 riders and luggage is delivered by road. Each night horses are turned out a short walk from your overnight stop - an inn or small hotel.

Riding holidays through perfect horse country . . .

The first part of this trail will be familiar to many riders - the wide cantering tracks across the Begwns leading down through woods into the Wye Valley. But from here the trail, having crossed the River Wye by the old suspension bridge, turns back southwards along open hill down to Brechfa Pool and then - very steeply -down into Llyswen and the Griffin Inn or on over to The Mill at Felin Fach.

For many years the Griffin Inn was in the hands of one of the pub chains but all is now well again and this fine old inn with its warm welcome, open fires, well run restaurant and comfortable en suite rooms is again an overnight stop for FreeRein riders.

The trail to Builth runs across the Eppynt high above the Wye Valley returning to the river at Builth Wells.

From here follow the River Wye out onto Aberedw Hill and along to the Red Lion.

The ride back to HQ across the heather hills of Glascwm and Llanbedr to Painscastle offers the option to shorten the day for riders requesting an early finish.

A varied and exciting four day trail riding holiday with long days and interesting overnight stops. Ideal for frequent guided visitors looking to explore new routes.

First Day . .

Meet your fellow riders and guide.

Pack saddle bags then meet and prepare your horses.

Out on trail all day.

Arrive at the Griffin Inn or The Mill - untack, feed & turn your horses out in the field.

Relax for the evening.

The Eppynt Trail

Second Day . .

Feed, groom and tack up your horse.

Long Day, out on trail all day.

Relax for the evening at the Llanelwedd Arms, Builth Wells.

Third Day . .

Feed, groom and tack up your horse.

Out on trail all day. Pub lunch options.

Relax for the evening at The Red lion Inn.

Forth Day . .

Feed, groom and tack up your horse.

Out on trail all day.

Return all the way to FreeRein HQ around 5-6pm for tea and homemade cake.

The price is £639 per person including everything except your lunches and evening meals.

Your Riding Holiday . .

A real four day trail ride staying overnight three different inns. Excellent riding on varied terrain with long days in the saddle.
