New Radnor Trail - 2 Days

Ride the New Radnor Trail . . .

The New Radnor Trail is a two day trail ride staying overnight at the Radnor Arms in the village of New Radnor from which this trail takes it’s name. It is two medium to long days in the saddle of 16-18 miles in length. This trail ride starts from Pendre Barns, Painscastle although as with all of our trails you still come to freerein HQ first to pack saddle bags, go through maps and routes and of course collect your fit and friendly GG’s.

For freerein+ trail riders only . . .

Please note that this trail ride is only offered to those with previous experience of one of more self-guided trail rides with freerein. If you are contemplating your first self guided trail with us you can view a selection of suitable trails by following this link: horse riding holidays.

If some members of your group have done previous self-guided trails and others haven’t, bookings on freerein+ trails such as this one should be suitable for you and are most welcome. If you are unsure please do not hesitate to contact us for a chat.

The Outward Journey . . .

Travels out over Llanfihangel Hill and Black Yat before swinging east and down onto the plain of New Radnor and the Radnor Arms.

Stay overnight at the Radnor Arms . . .

The Radnor Arms is in the centre of the village of new Radnor and offers basic accommodation and good pub grub to freereiners. The horses stay just five minutes away at Waterstreet Farm.

Lunch option at the Royal Oak . . .

Riders making an early start can trot out the old lanes via Yardro and enjoy lunch at the Royal Oak Inn. From here it is a longer afternoon with more open hill via Disgwylfa and Offas Dyke returning to Pendre Barns, Painscastle. here you can return over to freerein HQ or call for pick-up.

The New Radnor Trail is a two day trail ride with medium to long days in the saddle and staying overnight at the Radnor Arms.
