Wye Valley Explorer - 3 days

From Pendre Barns go straight out onto the ungated hill tracks leading across Rhulen,Llanbedr, and Llandeilo Hill to descend steeply through Aberedw Rocks into the Wye Valley with the option of tying up for refreshments at the Old Station Cafe.

River Wye

Next cross the River Wye and climb upwards with the picture postcard views of the Wye Valley down to your right. Over Mynydd Fforest common and down an old lane leading to Llyswen where you will stay the night at the Griffin Inn.

The Eppynt

Day 2 takes skirts around the edge the Eppynt all the way on remote open hills and forestry before decending down to the river Wye higher up stream than your first day. Here you stay the evening in Builth Wells at the Llanelwedd Arms while the horses graze peacefully on the outskirts of town.

Return Trail

This day starts with a small amount of road before a steep climb onto Aberedw Hill and stunning views back over the Eppynt and Builth Wells. There is an option to pop down to the Hundred House Inn at Hundred house for lunch before heading back over Glascwm hill to finish your trail at Painscastle.
