Wye Valley Explorer - 3 days
From Pendre Barns go straight out onto the ungated hill tracks leading across Rhulen,Llanbedr, and Llandeilo Hill to descend steeply through Aberedw Rocks into the Wye Valley with the option of tying up for refreshments at the Old Station Cafe.
River Wye
Next cross the River Wye and climb upwards with the picture postcard views of the Wye Valley down to your right. After a night at the Cedars in Builth Wells - depending on your chosen route - you will either travel southwards past Pant y Llyn Lake across the wilds of the Epynt to stay at Llanerchcoedlan Wells OR cross the Wye at Builth (if the River is low you can ford from where the horse stay the night) and head east up onto Aberedw Hill and so to the Hundred House Inn for lunch, then on to Forest Inn or Red Lion for the second night on trail. You can then either make early start for the Royal Oak at Gladestry for lunch or amble your way across Glascwm Hill and Newchurch Hill before returning to Pendre Barns and the Roast Ox.
