Introduction

This year all Dwy Tafarnau Trails (means two inns) head out to the Roast Ox for the first night on trail. This once fine old droving inn burned down in 1991 but has risen from the ashes and has now been open for the last two seasons. Rebuilt in old stone it has all its old character but with eight en suite bedrooms, restaurant and an integrated public bar area, with real good beers and ciders and a choice of wines in the lower price bracket.

Day Two

From the Roast Ox, after an enormous breakfast, continue on to the Harp at Old Radnor with ample opportunity for the horses to stretch their legs along Newchurch Hill, Offas Dyke and Hergest Ridge. Alternatively take the tracks leading north through the heather across Newchurch and Colva Hills to arrive at the Red Lion or Forest Inn.

Return

To FreeRein via Glascwm, Maun Pools, Llanbedr and the Begwns or go back across to Pendre Barns, Painscastle and call to be collected from the Roast Ox.
