When you first set eyes on Belmont Cottage B&B you will think “chocolate box”; the colourful hanging baskets and roses growing round the door are indicators that you are entering a delightful friendly little house. Indeed your affable host Avril Hoyle has been welcoming Freerein riders here for many years now. The cottage is traditionally furnished throughout and the beautiful bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed. There is a cosy lounge to relax in after a day in the saddle, or why not sit and enjoy a refreshing drink out in the scented and peaceful cottage garden.
Horses stay just down the lane about a 10 minute walk away.
Belmont Cottage B&B is nestled in the quiet village of Knucklas which has both a shop and a pub, the Castle Inn. Your evening meal can be enjoyed at the latter which is a mere two minute walk away. It’s a friendly pub offering home cooked food, local ales and a selection of wines and ciders. The building itself is impressive, dating from the 16th Century and stone built.
Far up above the village is a very high viaduct carrying the Heart of Wales railway line as it drops down into the Teme Valley and crosses the border into England on its way from Swansea to Shrewsbury. It has a spectacular 13 arch span and was completed by the Central Wales Railway in 1865.
Belmont Cottage B&B offers superb access onto the beautiful green tracks and trails offered on the remote and little explored Beacon Hill.
This accommodation is only available to returning Freereiners on Freerein+ Trails riding a minimum of four days.
