Meet Jess

 1. What’s your name, and where are you from?
Hi! My name is Jess and I’m from the Somerset levels.

 2. How long have horses been part of your life?
I was very into riding since I was a child and have spent the last few years guiding horseback trails in the mountains in Canada – as you can see from my favourite pictures!

 3. What’s your favourite thing about guiding trails with Freerein?
My favourite thing about Freerein is the freedom you have to go out and enjoy the beautiful trails around a stunning quiet part of Wales.

 4. Tea stop or gallop up a hill?
I would choose a gallop to the tea stop!

5. Which Freerein horse are you secretly hoping to ride most this season?
I don’t have a preference for the horse I ride, I love all the horses here, there’s not a bad one in the bunch.

 6. Describe your guiding style in 3 words.
My guiding style is fun and fast but relaxed.

 7. Best trail snack?
My best trail snack is an apple, because it’s one that you and your horse can share (she will love the core!)

 8. What should guests always pack for a Freerein trail?
My recommendation is that guests should always pack sun cream and waterproofs, be prepared for any weather in wales!

 9. Fun fact(s) about you that riders wouldn’t guess.
I once worked in a zoo!

10. If you could take riders anywhere in the world on horseback, where would it be?
My place that I’d take people on horseback is on a packing trip over the Andes (watch this space, find me there in the future!)

11. One thing riders can expect when they ride with you this season?
Riders can expect some nature knowledge and some terrible jokes when riding with me.
