Trail Riding with a Guide at Freerein

Experience a unique trail riding holiday with Freerein in mid Wales

What can you expect from a Freerein Guided Trail Riding Holiday?

Between the west coast of Wales and the Upper Wye Valley of the Welsh Marches lie the Cambrian Mountains and the Radnor Hills. A combination of history, natural topography and Freerein research have conspired to create the world’s most extensive trail riding network.
Experience trails with breathtaking scenery on a Freerein horse riding holiday.

Ride though incredible scenery

On a Guided Trail you’ll ride through beautiful green valleys, ford steams, navigate through forestry and enjoy long canters across grassy hillsides; and all in the company of a small group of like-minded people, a fit and friendly Freerein GG and of course an amiable and professional Guide.
There are plenty of wonderful canter opportunities

Evenings are spent at a welcoming country inn or guest house. Whilst you tuck into a well earned beverage and a home-cooked meal, your trusty Freerein steeds will spend the night close at hand. In fact they can often to be spotted from your bedroom window, grazing peacefully nearby.

After a relaxing evening and a hearty Welsh breakfast…
Delicious home-cooked food is served at all of the Freerein stopovers.

…it’s time to leap into the saddle and get set for another day’s exploring. You can choose from either two, three, four or even six days in the saddle.
All Freerein horses and ponies are fit, freindly and forward going trail horses.

Making tracks toward the forest

On the homeward journey there will usually be the opportunity to enjoy a pub lunch at the Roast Ox Inn. The horses will be most happy to have a nap or nibble on some grass.
Tie the horses near some lucious grass and enjoy a pub lunch on your trail riding holiday.

Happy relaxing out on trail

Sounds like your cup of tea?
To join a Guided Trail all we ask is that you are happy and confident at the canter.
Guided Trails are also a brilliant (all be it not compulsory) introduction to Freerein before embarking on a Self Guided Trail.

The first Guided Trail of 2016 with current vacancies is the fabulous Guided Silver John Trail Friday 8th – Sunday 10th April.
