The stunning beautiful area that we ride in is again under threat. Turbines produce virtually no electricity, are totally unreliable, must be backed up at all times (by other power, coal, gas, nuclear etc), destroy the environment, industrialise the countryside and divide communities. Despite the fact that these compelling arguments against turbines have already been proved, the subsidies (payed for by everyone through their electricity bills) just keep flowing.
So riders and readers; to prevent this pointless industrialisation we need to ask for your help. Please take a couple of minutes of your time to lodge your objection to the Wernoog wind turbine Clyro.
This is an application for a 84 metre high wind turbine, the same height as a 28 storey building in a beautiful unspoiled area. It will be clearly visible from and is close to the Begwns, Painscastle and Llanbedr Hill. You can find loads more information including clear and concise maps of the visibility here:
