Twin Rivers Trail

Horses fed and tacked-up, stirrups adjusted, girths tightened, maps and routes studied and checked – now climb or leap into the saddle and head out on trail!  To begin your first day you will wind up the quiet country lanes to the Begwns, where breathtaking panoramic views and fabulous canters await.

Canter along the banks of the River Wye . . .

Head up to the highest point of the Begwns – The Roundabout – before dropping down into the valley via the old green lanes.  Enjoy a canter along the banks of the river Wye to Glasbury, your first overnight stop.  You will stay at one of three fantastic accommodation places in the village.  Your evening meal and apres trail beverages will be at a lovely restaurant or inn, just around the corner.

Wake up feeling refreshed . . .

After a comfortable night sleep and a hearty Welsh Breakfast, it’s time to hit the trail on your second day.  Day two sees you heading back out along the banks of the Wye before crossing the bridge at the town of Llyswen.  It’s then up into the hills again, over Brechfa & Felinfach commons.  Take in the stunning views of the Black Mountains and spot the Roundabout on the hill from your first day.  After a quiet stroll off the common and down the lanes you will arrive at your second overnight stop.

Return to Freerein . . . 

Your third and final day leads you up through Mynydd Fforest, and then down to cross the Wye on the stunning Trericket suspension bridge.   Your route takes you back up onto the Begwns to enjoy a final canter before following the lanes back to return to Freerein HQ.
